How do I scan a document?

Open the ScanwiseAI app and tap the camera button at the bottom of the screen. Point your camera at the document and the app will automatically detect the edges. Tap the capture button to take the scan. You can then adjust the crop if needed and apply filters to enhance the image.

What is the difference between Free and Premium?

The Free plan allows you to scan up to 10 documents per month with basic features. Premium (€4.99/month) gives you unlimited scans, advanced AI-powered OCR, cloud backup, export in all formats, and access on up to 3 devices. Premium users also enjoy an ad-free experience and priority support.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription through your device's app store:

Android: Open Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → ScanwiseAI → Cancel

iOS: Open Settings → Tap your name → Subscriptions → ScanwiseAI → Cancel

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Can I use my account on multiple devices?

Yes! Premium subscribers can use their account on up to 3 devices. You can manage your registered devices in the app by going to Account → Your Devices. If you reach the device limit, you'll need to remove a device before adding a new one.

Where are my documents stored?

Free users: Documents are stored locally on your device only.

Premium users: Documents are automatically backed up to secure cloud storage and synced across your devices. All data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption.

How does OCR text recognition work?

Our AI-powered OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology extracts text from your scanned documents. After scanning, tap the document and select "Extract Text" to convert the image to editable text. You can then copy, search, or export the text.

Can I export documents as PDF?

Yes! You can export single or multiple scans as PDF. Simply select the documents you want to export, tap the share button, and choose "Export as PDF". Premium users can also export as JPEG, PNG, or TXT format.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Your documents are stored in secure data centers in the EU. We never share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account through the app (Account → Settings → Delete Account) or by visiting our Account Deletion page. Please note that this action is permanent and will delete all your data.

The app is not detecting document edges correctly

For best results:

  • Ensure good lighting - avoid shadows on the document
  • Place the document on a contrasting background (e.g., dark document on light surface)
  • Hold your phone parallel to the document
  • Keep the entire document within the camera frame
  • Make sure the camera lens is clean

You can always manually adjust the corners after capturing if needed.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to reset your password. The link is valid for 24 hours. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes! You can scan documents offline. They will be saved locally on your device. For premium users, documents will automatically sync to the cloud when you're back online.
